My name is Trinity Ahie, and I am the Room 14 teacher at BNMS for 2016.

Trinity and Liv Celebrating Norway's National Day
History:
  • I grew up and completed my primary and secondary schooling in Taranaki
  • I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at the University of Waikato
  • After my degree, I went to Norway for a year
  • When I was there, I volunteered and eventually worked at Gulskogen Primary School as a teaching assistant
  • After returning from Norway, I completed my teaching studies here at the University of Waikato
  • I have worked at Berkley Normal Middle School for two years
  • I am married to my Norwegian bride, Liv Marit, and we have a son, Josef Leiv
Little Josef
Interests:
  • Conversational understanding in Norwegian
  • I hope to be at a conversational level in te reo Maaori by the end of 2016
  • I competed at a national level in Athletics multiple years in a row while at high school  university (begun in long jump and triple jump; I then competed only in 100m and 200m)
  • I current train in submission wrestling (Brazillian Jiu Jitsu) at Core MMA here in Hamilton
  • I enjoy playing guitar, watching a variety of sports, listening to music, podcasts and audiobooks
  • I read for enjoyment (especially books from 1800s and before)
  • I love spending time with my bride and son.

I am excited about investing into the learners of Room 14 and the Rangahau team. It is a great privilege and opportunity to guide students through this stage of their lives, and to help them develop in all areas of their Hauora (physically, socially, mentally, emotionally and spiritually).

I look forward to sharing with you here on our blog.

Ngaa mihi,
Trinity
